Tune: Put Your Records On, by Corrine Bailey Ray
Lyrics by Eve Bloomgarden, MD
Few mos ago, in a world of corona
Got my shots, thought I don’t have to worry
Summer came and it felt home free
Seeing friends, breathing free, life was good
But, vaccines slowed down, and well we mostly let our guard down.
The time we could have gained, but people wouldn’t change
Oh, but who to blame (hmm)
Girl, put your mask back on, those Insta posts are wrong
Just go and get vaccinated
Truth it can’t be denied, and science doesn’t lie
Just go and get vaccinated
Just don’t regret having waited somehow
Blue is the mood, we are burnt out and lonely
No one hearing our pleas, listen close (get your shots, get your shots)
Don’t you let those politicians fool you
They don’t have your best interest in mind
Maybe sometimes, we feel afraid but it’s alright
The more the virus gains, the more we need to change
Oh but who to blame
Girl, put your mask back on, those Insta posts are wrong
Just go and get vaccinated
Truth it can’t be denied, and science doesn’t lie
Just go and get vaccinated
Here’s the original song in case you want to sing along.
